Are you Peney?
Sort of! The nickname my mom and grandpa called me growing up was "Jeney-Peney" - so that's where Peney Cakes comes from! If you want to call me Peney, go right ahead! I'll still probably answer to it. ;-)
Where are you located?
I am not your typical brick and mortar bakery! While I do bake and package out of a commercial space in downtown Fergus Falls, all of my sales are done online or in a mobile fashion via Pop-Up Shops and my Cupcake Trailer! I do also have a Bakery Case with daily deals, though. Check the next question for more details on that!
Do you sell individual cupcakes? Do you have anything “in stock”?
You have two options here - to start, I do have a bakery case right outside the entrance of Toast (116 S. Union Ave) which I stock up with brownies, cookies, and (of course) cupcakes Tuesday through Saturday. You can grab yourself some last minute goodies there to treat yo' self or for that gathering you completely forgot about. ;-)
You can also grab yourself individual cupcakes of my featured Flavors of the Week at either a Pop-Up Shop or a Cupcake Trailer Event! Keep your eyes on my social channels for these announcements.
Do you do variety boxes?
Variety packs are only available if you purchase Bakery Case or Flavors of the Week cupcakes. Since I work on such a small scale, it is not feasible to offer variety packs for custom orders.
Do you deliver?
Yes! As long as you have a local (Fergus Falls) address, I will deliver free if charge. However, if you live outside of Fergus Falls, appropriate delivery charges will be added to your order.
Do you have separate equipment and tools for your gluten free/dairy free products?
Sadly, no. I share a kitchen with other talented chefs and confectioners and all of our equipment comes in contact with wheat, dairy, nut, fish, soy, and other allergens on an almost daily basis. If you have a severe allergy, I would suggest not indulging in my products.
Are your dairy free products vegan?
While I do not use any animal products in the baking myself (no dairy, egg, honey, etc.), the sugar I use is processed with bone char, therefore it is not certified vegan.
How much advance notice do you need for an order?
Ideally, two weeks for a fully customized order. This gives me plenty of time to gather all the supplies I need to make your desserts everything you want and more. However, I understand this isn’t always a possibility. I can whip up smaller orders of cupcakes in a day, and I do have plenty of fun sprinkles, colored liners, and toppers on hand if you’re willing to be flexible!
